Relais Duca di Dolle

Duca di Dolle is located in Rolle, a tiny hamlet in the heart of the Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. hills of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, which from 2019 will be recognised as a World Heritage Site. The estate has ancient origins: an unspoilt oasis of natural beauty and peace in which to enjoy a unique immersive experience, combining history and tradition with taste and innovation.

The Duca di Dolle estate has its roots in history. A monastic seat since the 16th century, and already a centre of wine production, it now extends over 75 hectares of vineyards, woods, meadows and pastures. Believing strongly in the valorisation and safeguarding of the enchanting Rolle area, a FAI point for the protection of the landscape, as well as in environmental sustainability, the owners of the estate wanted to keep the area as uncontaminated as possible. A true oasis of peace and nature, immersed in the silence of the hills.

The Duca di Dolle vineyards are located on the steepest but most fascinating slopes of the DOCG, the natural habitat of the Glera, Verdiso and Perera vines. All the vineyards consist of real "Rive", i.e. vines located on steep slopes with reduced yields per hectare. They give rise to Prosecco Superiore DOCG, the top of the quality pyramid of the Prosecco world.

The DOCG encompasses fifteen municipalities with a total of around 6,000 hectares of vineyards, 100 of which are in the Cartizze micro-production zone in the municipality of Valdobbiadene. Through its extraordinary history, Conegliano Valdobbiadene has built, over time, the success of Prosecco, appreciated and loved all over the world.

Within the estate is the Relais Duca di Dolle, which in the 16th century was the site of a medieval convent, and which boasts a succession of history and legends that made the hermitage a landmark for the area until, in the first half of the 20th century, it became the property of the "peasant poet" Nino Mura. This singular personage, an amateur poet with a passion for nature and culture, opened the place between the 1950s and 1960s to select friends, such as the poets Giovanni Comisso and Andrea Zanzotto, with whom he loved to spend convivial evenings.

Staying at the ancient Duca di Dolle relais means choosing to live an experience of rediscovering balance, dedicating time to oneself in contact with the environment, tasting the best of what the land has to offer: excellent quality wines and typical artisan food. To welcome our customers, an all-female staff to make your stay even more romantic and refined.

In 2011 Duca di Dolle was purchased by the Baccini family who, coming from the world of Research and Development, immediately decided to focus on innovation, high quality products and environmental sustainability, as well as attention to detail.

"Terroir and raw materials are the real protagonists of our company: a unique heritage that we look after every day with passion and dedication because it represents our greatest value and we are called upon to safeguard it as others have done before us. With the same love, we take care of every single detail of our relais to give the senses of our customers unique, enveloping and unforgettable emotions".
